Required Documents
Country: United States
Please carefully review the documentation requirements below, including the Important Notes. Incomplete documentation delays the assessment process.
For all qualifications that you would like to appear in the Assessment Report, we require documents submitted by you (the applicant) and official documents sent directly to ICAS by the institution/authority that awarded the qualification.
Official documents are documents sent directly to our office by the institution/authority that awarded the qualification.
To request official documents, you must send the institution/authority an Official Records Request Form. This form was sent to you by e-mail after you completed your on-line application. The institution must complete the form and send it directly to ICAS along with your academic record (transcript, mark sheets, diploma supplement or indeks).
Documents submitted by the applicant or another third party are not considered official and will not be accepted, regardless of whether they are submitted in a sealed envelope.

Important Notes:
- The processing of an application does not begin until ICAS has received all required documents. Incomplete documentation delays the assessment process.
- All documents submitted for a Canadian Immigration Assessment Package become the property of ICAS and will not be returned. Documents issued directly to ICAS by the institution will not be released to the applicant. Do not submit your original documents.
- If the name that appears on your educational documents differs from the name on your application, you must submit a copy of official evidence of change of name.
- If the documents were not originally issued in English or French, ICAS also requires an accurate word-for-word translation of each document. If you submit English documents or translations, you will receive an English-language report. If you submit French-language documents or translations, you will receive a French-language report.
- If you have completed a postgraduate research degree (example: Doctor of Philosophy), you must submit a copy of the title page, table of contents and abstract of your thesis/dissertation. If ICAS cannot verify your thesis on-line, we will contact your university directly for verification.
- If you have completed a postsecondary (college/university) qualification, secondary school documents are not usually required for assessment.
